There are more than ONE BILLION Catholics in the world. That's 100 million more Catholics than Muslims. In the United States there are twice as many Catholics as Southern Baptists. The Catholic Church is the biggest religious body in the world and in the United States. So, yes the Catholic Church continues to be "influential." From the unborn in the womb to the undocumented in the USA to the "untouchables" in India, the Church of Rome has heeded to call of the Lord Jesus to reach out in loving service to those who are unable to help themselves. God bless the memory of such Catholic saints as Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Monseñor Oscar Romero of El Salvador! O Spirit divine, strengthen all those living saints, Catholic & otherwise, who act with Jesus & them as examples!
