It takes a lot of training, calm under pressure and crack professionalism to handle a couple of dozen peaceful protesters. Women with signs are especially problematic, as is anyone chanting in unison with others. In fact, whenever signs or chanting of any kind are present, pros know that the situation calls for special tactics. And, as any well trained cop will tell you, kicking the hell out of large women on the ground and squirting pepper spray into the faces of thin chanting women are essential crowd control techniques. They’re the bread and butter of smart policing.
In the video (on the right) Minneapolis’ finest demonstrate their professionalism and sensitivity to the community that employs them. The video is also a testimony to how well the federal government is doing in curbing home foreclosures. All in all, the whole thing just sorta swells you up with pride.
